What is at stake stake:a case study of Russian expressions starting with a preposition

摘要

The paper describes an experiment indetecting a specific type of multiwordexpressions in Russian, namely expressionsstarting with a preposition. Thiscovers not only prepositional phrasesproper, but also fixed syntactic constructionslike v techenie ('in the course of').First, we collect lists of such constructionsin a corpus of 50 mln words usinga simple mechanism that combines statisticalmethods with knowledge aboutthe structure of Russian prepositionalphrases. Then we analyse the results ofthis data collection and estimate the ef-ficiency of the collected list for the resolutionof morphosyntactic and semanticambiguity in a corpus.
