This research was designed to study relationships between what preparation information technology (IT) industries ask from their prospective IT/IS employees, and what a university actually teaches and trains students for in an information systems (IS) program. Based on the IS '97 and IS 2002 Model Curriculum and Guidelines for Undergraduate Degree Programs in IS of AITP, ACM and AIS, and the findings of the research, we, researchers, may adjust and strengthen the requirements of the IS curriculum so that the IS program may produce better-qualified graduates for the IS market. To that end, this study developed a research framework of "Pressure for Change of IS Curriculum" to link the changing role of IT and business environment to university and college IS education. The relationships in the research goals between IS graduates' preparation for their jobs and (IT) employers and (IT) managers were measured by designing a survey for IS graduates and their employers using the Chamber of Commerce members of the city around the university.
