In the oil and hydraulic filtrationindustry, cellulose, synthetic andcellulose blends of media havetraditionally dominated the filter market.These types of media have always metthe needs of the customer in terms ofprice and performance. Due to customerdemands for longer life, reduced costand increased performance the need forshort development time has becomecritical. The demands for reduced timeto market have become a main objective.The objective of this paper is to compareactual filter performance to theoreticalfilter performance by computationalmethods. In the course of this study wehave evaluated and compared twocomputational performance methods toactual finished filter performance. Theutilization of these methods could reducethe time required to bring new media tomarket.
