The unit operations of mineral processing can also be used for waste treatment, in spite of the great heterogeneity of these materials. In the case of laminated safety glass windshield waste, the enclosed plastic interlayer has been separated from glass. The recovered glass fits glass manufacturers' specifications. In this study we used selective crushing, screening and pneumatic separation. The results were satisfactory with glass recovery of 57.6percent. This figure can be increased with some equipment adaptation.
