摘要

This study processes an alternate means for identifying and understanding the needs of its cnstituents, one which incorporates a mutidimensional approach. To gain this insight, a survey of requisite IS skills was conducted among the constituetns of an MIS undergraduate program. Rather than developing a unidimensional importance ranking, this study has identified five important areas in which an IS program should develop itself and direct its studnets toward achieving proficiency. The five areas, database, systems analysis/project management, telecommunications, programming and data structures, and large system applications, suggest a core.
