TO TEAM OR NOT TO TEAM: DO STUDENTS LEANR TEAMING SKILLS BY WORKING IN TEAMS?

Professional skills such as communication and effective team collaboration are required by today’s employers. Therefore, business schools must deliver graduates who are capable team players. With so much attention devoted to teams in today’s business classrooms, the current paper aims to investigate the effectiveness of the teaming experience within the business classroom. Based on past research and current findings, our goal is to identify optimal conditions for using teams and promoting the development of teaming skills in business students. We highlight some preliminary results from a current study, discuss future directions for research, and discuss the implications of such research.
