30 Years of the International Vienna Motor Symposium

It is a particular pleasure and a great honour for me to have been invited again to present a lecture at this, the 30th International Vienna Motor Symposium. The first Vienna Motor Symposium under the direction of Prof. Lenz took place on January 25, 1979 and was devoted to the general theme "Motor Vehicles and Environmental Protection" which is still topical today (photograph no. 1).
