Impact of improper selection and the misuse of inspection machines on measurement data

Although there are number of slogans like `Do it right the first time', `Zero defects', `defect free' etc. But, a natural process bears some variation. There are number of techniques being used to control the variation. Generally the techniques to minimize the variation add costs to the regular process. The trend of new product properties includes the shrinkage of real estate and more input and output signals. The classical inspection technique, which relies on classical inspection tools, does not lend itself to precisely differentiate the degree of the critical product/process characteristics. With the increasing demand of precise inspection tools there is a variety of tools built with different technique to make precision inspection/measurements.
