摘要

The present report concerns a friction damper with coned disc springs as a part of laminated rubber bearings for base-isolation systems. This friction damper includes coned disc springs compressed vertically which keep a sliding material pressed against a stainless steel plate placed horizontally. WHile the friction damper is moved horizontally by earthquakes or winds, friction occurs between the sliding material and stainless steel plate and absorbs vibration energy. The present coned disc springs are designed to obtain non-linear characteristics, which always allows a constant rebound, without being affected by the height variations of the laminated rubber bearings. The reliability and applicability of this friction damper for base-isolation systems were confirmed by means of static and dynamic characteristic tests.
