Designing a Conceptual Model for People's Participation in Resistive Economy: Text Grounded Theory Approach Based on Islamic Thoughts

The concept of Resistive Economy was first proposed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2010. Iran's current situation renders efforts for materialisation of its economy more vital today than ever. Humanization of the economy is one of the main pillars of resistive economy. In Islam, nobility is an attribute of both the individual and the society whereas in the western viewpoint, either the individual or the society is deemed noble. Based on this viewpoint, people of the country are expected to employ their full power to fulfill collective and national objectives under harsh circumstances such as sanctions and war. In such framework, notions such as resistance find meaning as one of the main pillars of resistive economy and virtues like plurality, dedication, devotion, helping fellows and the other necessary components of resistive economy should be realised. The current study aims to highlight the role of people in resistive economy based on fundamental values extracted from direct Islamic thoughts and guidance of the Supreme Leader by applying text analysis in grounded theory as the analysis tool. In spite of the variety of resources and diverse Islamic books available, researchers in the field have opted to emphasize on direct Islamic thoughts narrated in the Quran and Nahj al-Balaqa (the Pearls of Eloquence) in order to achieve a people-centered economic theory. These are the most complete available sources for practical guidelines and most advanced present human civilization. Moreover, given the Supreme Leader's knowledge and comprehensive insight into the field, as implemented in the current situation of the country, and given the requirements of an Islamic-Iranian lifestyle Ayatollah Khamenei's words in recent years are also used as an additional source of data in the study. Once the problem is coded and the data is analysed, a conceptual model for people's participation in the Iranian economy is illustrated.
