Compensation of the phase shift in the optical fibre current sensor

Abstract: The phase shift of the linear polarizing light introduced by total internal reflection in the optical fiber current sensor is discussed. Two compensating methods for the phase shift, the optical and the geometric, are developed. Two designs of the high polarization-keeping probes for measurement of the electric current by Faraday magneto-optical effect are given.
