Phase shift of an angular sensor compensation method in which an algorithm is used to determine a compensation value from sine and cosine values produced from a magnetic angular sensor used with a signal generator
Angular sensor (1) comprises a sensor element (5) for detecting a generator (2) mounted on a shaft (3) such the sensor element generates a sine and cosine signal to an operating unit (10) as a function of the shaft angular displacement. The operating unit (10) uses an algorithm which uses the sine and cosine values or values derived from them to determine the phase shift value as a function of temperature or time and thus to correct the determined rotation angle.
