An OGSA-Based Product Innovation Application Platform

Under the grid infrastructure we present a product innovation application platform. The architecture of the platform consists of three layers that we defined as the Application layer, the Grid-Service layer and the Grid layer. The Application layer is a problem-solving environment in which a product concept can be created. The Grid-Service layer provides a uniform access interface from the problem-solving environment to the Grid layer and it conforms to the Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA) in which a Grid provides an extensible set of services that virtual organizations can aggregate in various ways. That means we are using OGSA to construct the product innovation Grid environment. In the Grid layer we present two knowledge base grids: Patent Knowledge base Grid and Requirement Knowledge base Grid. In the two knowledge base grids we are using RDF and RDFS to describe the patents and product. These work make the representation of the patent and product containing semantics. Using the semantic feature we introduce three semantic search methods .including semantic collision, semantic cluster and semantic association, that can be used in the process of product innovation. These methods are helpful for product innovation and they are also a feature of the platform.
