Equipment-based Course Development and Implementation: A Teamwork Approach

Advanced Micro Device's (AMD) Austin Wafer Fabrication Division is undergoing an organizational transformation. AMD has named this transformation the Journey to Excellence (JTE). The Journey involves multiple initiatives supporting increasingly sophisticated technology and fab processes. Gary Heerssen, Group Vice-president for AMD's Austin Wafer Fab Operations, states, "Only through our continuous efforts to learn new skills and improve will we meet the challenges of a fiercely competitive and constantly changing business environment." JTE requires that employees across the organization learn continuously.
