A Distributed CORBA-based Software Architecture for Efficient Data Processing and Correlation

In this paper, we present a distributed software architecture for generic and efficient data processing and correlation. It allows a customer to combine data sources, data processing/correlation agents, processing power and connectivity into a customized data processing application. Independence of providers assures that the customer can select the provider that provides the required functionality at the lowest price. A functional description of the architecture will be provided, together with a detailed description of the software components. Furthermore, this paper also presents a generic XML-based specification format for data processing jobs. In addition, two case studies will be presented.
