摘要

Precision forging is an important manufacturing procedure of steel synchronizer gear ring forms. It has advantages of improved strength, good tolerance, saving billet material, dispensing with the cutting, etc. In this paper, FEM software DEFORM_3D is applied to simulate the forming process and three important technical parameters were concerned. The important factors that influence on precision forming of steel synchronizer gear ring are studied and the results are verified in practice. The results show that the size of billet, forging temperature, and thickness of web strongly influence the forming quality of steel synchronizer gear ring. The influence trends on the forming procedure were discussed.
