摘要

This work deals with the development of computational methods fornonlinear collapse analysis of three-dimensional framed structures,including three-dimensional finite elements with material andgeometric nonlinearities, and some strategies and techniques for thesolution of the nonlinear problem. The main objective is to obtain anaccurate and computationally efficient numerical tool for theinvestigation of the behaviour of three-dimensional frames in general,with special attention on the reassessment of existing fixed platformsfor offshore oil exploitation.
