Silicate-carbonate slime is characterised by a raised sorption activity in relation to the collectors,which negatively influences on the floatability of minerals and quality of flotation concentrate. Alongwith hydromechanical methods of preliminary ore desliming more and more wide application findsflotation method of desliming. The flotation desliming method allows to recovery from ore not onlythe finest slime particles but also slime which characterised by the greatest floatability. Currentlydesliming flotation using as a collector of ethoxylated surfactants (ethoxylated phenols, ethoxylatedamines) is widely used for flotation of potash factories in Russia, that allows you to effectively enrichthe potash ore with high content of silicate-carbonate impurities (up to eight to ten per cent). Flotationseparation of silicate-carbonate slimes promising and enriching ores of different composition.The report presents the results of studies of the effect of concentration of electrolytes in theliquid phase at slime floatability using ethoxylated surfactants. For example, ethoxylated aminesrevealed a previously unknown effect of a significant increase in flotation of silicate-carbonate slimesethoxylated surfactant with increasing concentration of salts in the flotation liquid phase.The actionmechanism of ethoxylated amines is considered by slime flotation in electrolyte solutions.Results of technological researches of slime flotation in various electrolytes and industrial flotationore desliming with application of ethoxylated surfactants of various composition are resulted.
