Assessment and measurement of occupational noise exposure. A three-step approach

The paper deals with the estimation and the measurement of occupational exposure to noise. It combines three assessment steps of increasing complexity, from a mere estimation to an engineering grade measurement carried out according to the recently published ISO 9612. The different methods are briefly described together with the tools available for their implementation in industrial hygiene practice.
