After the Fukushima accident, the National Nuclear Safety Agency(NNSA) issued “the general technical requirements for improving the operation of nuclear power plant after Fukushima Accident” (hereinafter referred to as “technical requirements”), which puts specific requirements on the spent fuel pool monitoring system. In this paper, the solutions for the spent fuel pool monitoring system are discussed in detail from the aspects of instrument setting, layout position and signal acquisition and display of active and passive nuclear power plants. Based on the technical requirements, the solutions for the spent fuel pool monitoring system of active and passive nuclear power plants were evaluated and analyzed. Three solutions for subsequent projects were proposed and compared. The conclusions and results of this paper can be used as an important reference and basis for the optimization and improvement of the technical solutions for the spent fuel pool monitoring system in nuclear power plants.
