摘要

This paper discusses the possibility of the Jornada del Muerto basin as a future water resource by utilizing remote sensing and geophysical methods. Geophysical methods of gravity, well log analysis, and seismic data were used to interpret and constrain sub-surface structures with in the basin. These sub-surface structures may create underground reservoirs to store sufficient water for regional water supplies. The study identified several subsurface structures (sub-basins) in the Jornada del Muerto basin, which might be utilized as future water resources for the City of Las Cruces and neighboring communities.
