An innovation enantio-selective crystallization process exploits advantages of both well known kinetic and thermodynamic crystallization methods, e.g. preferential and selective crystallization techniques. This approach allows to access single enantiomers from slightly enriched solutions. In the first step, polythermal auto-seeded preferential crystallization is applied to crystallize racemate and force the mother liquor come over the limitation of the eutectic point. After that, removing solvent from the mother liquor will move this system into a two phase domain to obtain the pure target enantiomer. This technique is successfully applied for the mandelic acid as a case study in this work.
