Cryogenic scanning Fabry-Perot interferometers for the ISO Long Wavelength Spectrometer

Abstract: The design of the cryogenic, scanning Fabry-Perot interferometers for the Long Wavelength Spectrometer on the Infrared Space Observatory is presented. The spectroscopic performance is compared with the model developed for the interferometer design. Although the measured efficiency is in reasonable agreement with calculations, the spectral resolution is lower than expected. This is ascribed to non-flatness of the reflectors.!6
