The plastic injection molding is a mature technology, but most small companies always develop the plastic products by experiences. However, CAE software for the plastic injection molding flow has been established to simulate the results under any working parameters. These analyses can make engineers get the optimization and spend less time to reduce cost.Recently, the cost of some metals, like copper and stainless, rises. That causes a great impact on metal padlocks. Plastic padlocks are therefore considered to replace the metal. Twenty percent of glass fiber is added to the nylon. The Moldex3D is applied to simulating the injection of plastic padlocks. The simulated parameters can be the location and diameter of injection, injection pressure, time and cooling control. The optimal results would be applied to producing the real plastic padlocks.
