A Mapping from Software Architectural Description Language XYZ/ADL to UML2.0

Now the two main kinds of software architecture description are visual description and formal description. The visual description is intuitional and the formal one is rigorous. UML and ADL are their representatives. Their advantages in software description can be obtained simultaneity if they can be integrated. In this paper, it analyses the analogies between elements of XYZ/ADL, an architectural description language based on linear temporal logic, and UML2.0, does the conversion with extension mechanisms that UML offers and OCL (Object Constraint Language) and gives an example to show its application in software architecture description.
