Forward-looking Professional Education in the University of Library and Information Science

摘要

The main purpose of the University of Library and Information Science is to promote the social use of information through activities of information professionals, who use knowledge of such disciplines as linguistics, cognitive science, psychology, behavioral science, philosophy, logic, etc., in the processing of information. Knowledge of these disciplines is also necessary to understand the process of producing information. Thus, a framework building upon that knowledge as the foundation of library and information science is presented. To meet the social demand for information intermediaries and information systems specialists, educational courses for them are developed within this framework.
