EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE FOR SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING

The Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan ensures a coordinated, efficient and safe response to emergency events at the Motorola, Oak Hill site. The plan describes the actions site personnel must take in response to a variety of events that include fires, personal injury or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of hazardous materials to the air, soil or surface water at the facility. The plan is integrated into the site's EHS Management System as a set of procedures that were written to be consistent with the National Response Team's Integrated Contingency Plan Guidance document. In order to meet regulatory requirements while maintaining a functional response plan, Motorola Oak Hill developed a set of procedures. The plan consists of the primary Emergency Preparedness procedure that defines responsibilities and actions for both external and internal response groups. In addition, event specific or secondary procedures have been developed to provide critical response information for various emergency events that may occur at the site. Each event specific procedure addresses incidental, low level, high level and crisis events and includes a responsibility matrix as well as guidance on developing event specific tactical response plans.
