We present our studies on fabrication and comparative examination of different types of tandem dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC). We investigated the absorption, and light energy conversion characteristics of the sensitized electrodes in conventional Graetzel-type DSCs, and in different tandem DSCs. For construction we used a number of phthalocyanine and porphyrine dyes, sensitive also in near-infrared region. Using SEM and AFM measurements we have examined the morphology of the electrodes before and after dye sensitization process. As a result we have formulated the optimum conditions for the construction of a tandem DSSC with the increased solar energy conversion parameters.
