摘要

A series of numerical analyses and centrifuge model tests have been undertaken to determine the effectiveness of bored piles, placed at excavation formation level, in reducing ground movements behind embedded retaining walls. The research has demonstrated that such measures were effective in reducing displacements although the magnitude of reduction seen in the centrifuge tests was not reflected in the numerical analysis.
