摘要

The ?Glacis Bridge“, with a total length of 164m, crosses the Danube river in the City of Ingolstadt,rnGermany. Compared to other bridges, this rather uncommon cable supported bridge is described byrnthe different levels of the roadway and the pedestrian walkways. The pedestrians are separated fromrncar traffic and enter the bridge at ground level directly from the adjacent city park, whereas the carrntraffic crosses the river at a higher level reaching the bridge over long ramps. Demands for arntransparent and light structure that does not influence the intact landscape at the riverbank and thernview to the historical city of Ingolstadt resulted in the design of a cable supported bridge withoutrnpylons or stay-cables: a raked frame combined with a stress ribbon. The design of the structure andrnits unique construction process will be described in this paper.
