The current financial crisis: Visible and invisible connections with food crisis

This paper try to present an overview of the financial crisis which also impacts government, social services, aid, remittances, trade, investment, and exchange rates, making food less accessible and imports more expensive. The global credit crunch, along with commodity price volatility discourages new investment in agricultural infrastructure, and the run-up in food prices has already caused damage to nutrition, education, and food stocks. Based on recent studies, this paper will try to show the connection between the financial global crisis and the food crises, and the importance of investments in agriculture.
