摘要

Rotor bar and end-ring faults of the squirrel cage induction motor yield unbalanced currents, torque pulsation during normal and transient states. These behaves cause an unstable characteristics at high speed operation. So, optimal design considering the mechanical and electrical conditions is necessary. This paper presents investigation and estimation of the electromagnetic characteristics of a high-speed squirrel cage induction motor under the broken rotor bar by 2-D and 3-D FEM. As a result the magnetic flux and current density distributions between the unbroken rotor bar model and broken models are compared.
