Application of hybrid bearings, which combine rolling-element and sliding bearings allows significant improvement of dynamic characteristics and increase of lifetime of turbomachinery. In the present paper a general approach is presented for mathematical modeling of a hybrid bearing and of a control algorithm of its dynamic characteristics for rotor vibration minimization.
