摘要

A new girder type concrete bridge, at the Municipality of Wotton (Quebec, Canada), wasrnconstructed using FRP bars as deck reinforcement. Both carbon and glass FRP bars were used asrnreinforcement for the concrete deck slab. The bridge is well instrumented at critical locations for internalrntemperature and strain data collection using fiber optic sensors. A data acquisition system attached to arnmodem is installed on-site to allow remote monitoring of the deck behaviour from the time of constructionrnto several years after completion of construction. Also, the bridge was tested for service performancernusing a standard truckload as specified by the new CHBDC (2000). This project allows field evaluationrnand long-term assessment of using different types of FRP composite bars as deck reinforcement as wellrnas direct comparison to steel reinforcement under the same real service and environmental conditions.rnThis paper presents the constructability issues and the field performance test results.
