Network Effects and Market Structure of Network Industries

摘要

This paper aims to study the impact of network effects on the market structure of network industries. It starts from the concept of "network effects" and then extends to a simplified model of market structure and the empirical test of China's Internet industries. It draws the conclusion that the market structure of network industries with strong network effects tends to be more concentrated and monopolistic compared to industries without network effects.
