A blast-resistant analysis for an underground tunnel passes through the Shongsan airport in Taipei has been carried out. The main purpose of the analysis was to derive maximum moment, induced as a result of bomb explosion in the event of a war, for the structural lining design. A series of sensitivity analysis using the finite difference program FLAC has also been carried in order to study the effects of dynamic Young's modulus, soil-damping ratio, intensity of blast loading, and crater radius on the tunnel lining structure.
