A Reflective Framework for HLA Federate Development

Many attentions are taken to the toolkit for HLA federate development. Nowadays, frameworks supporting static reconfigurabiliry of. system and static expression of models are available commercially. But in practice, there are some problems of these frameworks. For example, they cannot support the component based development, cannot support run time evolvement, and are difficult to use while with poor real-time performance. The paper introduces a reflective framework, which supports simulation objects are created and configured dynamically. The framework models the attributes of objects, the methods for the creation, the response to events, class hierarchy and so on as meta objects. In order to improve the performance of security and real-time, both meta objects and base objects are organized according to hierarchy and managed by a reflective object database. As a result, the framework is repository-centered architecturally.
