An adaptive controller for heads-up displays

An adaptive controller is described for heads-up displays. The design consists of an eye tracker, a head tracker, an adaptive display interface controller, and a digital computer. The adaptive controller is driven by an electronic expert system on human vision programmed as a fuzzy logic processor. A user can operate a heads-up display (or a head-mounted display) with an eye tracker, leaving his or her hands free to perform a manual control task. The adaptive controller automatically aids the user in display operations during high manual task loading.
