The combination of four modification techniques, includingroof insulation, external wall outside insulation, external shading,and whole house ventilation was proposed to improve indoorthermal comfort in the Malaysian terraced houses during the dayand night. The exact performance of the above combinationswould be investigated by using the full-scale experimental housesin the next paper (Part 2).
