A fully monolithic design of a 3.6 V to 0.9 V synchronous buck converter with an output current of 1A and compatible with the IBM 7WL foundry process has been designed and simulated. The first-generation mini-cell converter operates at 400 MHz, with a power train efficiency of 60% and a current density of 40 A/cm~2.
