摘要

This paper focuses on a proposed enhancement of the Engineering Management (EM) undergraduate program curriculum at Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES), P. R. China. SUES' existing EM curriculum was identified as problematically limited to the field of Real Estate Management, over-narrowed, and incompatible to the universal positioning compared with prevalent programs around the world. The objective of this research was to identify the desired characteristics of an EM undergraduate as an entry-level employee, to determine the future focus by integrating characteristics into the curriculum, and to propose a revised curriculum for the EM program. Course Requirements Plan (CRP) method was adopted through curriculum enhancement procedures. A reconstructed EM curriculum was presented by introducing a "Four-Module-and-Two-Focus" pattern as the core of enhancement. The findings provided a strategic outlook for the graduates of the EM program and would benefit them to become professional in rapidly changing industrial workplace.
