摘要

In order to investigate the effects of fluid flow and the variation of meniscus level on solidification and thermal-mechanical behavior of casting strip, an improved twin-roll caster with complete meniscuses control system has been developed. In this paper, the structure and characteristics of the meniscuses control system in this twin-roll caster are introduced. Numerical simulation is carried out to clarify the relation of the meniscuses level with the temperature distribution and solidification finishing line in strip casting process. The main parameters including meniscuses level for steady production are determined based on calculation and simulation results.
