With the advancement of information technologies, sophisticated traveler information services are currently under development in each mode of transport. In order to realize convenient and stress-free intermodal traveler services, however, it is required to achieve consistency and interoperability among information services provided by different modes of transport. In our project "CyberRail," we are going to develop itinerary-based, situation-sensitive traveler information services for travelers who go through different modes of transport, including but not restricting to rail. In this paper we make account of our approach in which top-down requirements analysis are used effectively to derive interoperable traveler support system specifications together with some feedback from experimental system implementation.
