摘要

This paper presents a brain-computer interface based on Imitating-Reading-Event-Related Potentials (IR-ERP-BCI). A virtual keyboard consisting of 36 buttons is used. Each buttons is 1.2x1.2cm~2 and the distance between adjacent buttons is 0.3cm, yielding a higher letter density. The top half of each button has the letter representing the button, and the lower half a display window. A pair of signs scrolls through each display window along with symbol sentence from right to left in succession at a fixed interval during reading. A pair of event-related potentials (ERP) will be evoked with the same interval when a user recognizes the pair at the target button. The interface determines the target button according to the latencies and the interval between the ERP pair. The IR-ERP-BCI eliminates the use of abrupt stimulus, therefore reduces the exogenous and endogenous brain noises evoked by them. Six subjects participated in the experiment. The average transfer rate is over 80 bits/min.
