In the paper, the limitation of four wheels steering system (4WS) under extreme conditions was considered, A coordinated control of 4WS and electronic stability program (ESP) based on road adhesion coefficient was proposed. The road adhesion coefficient was estimated by extended Kalman filter method. Based on different road adhesion coefficients, the coordinated fuzzy controller of 4WS and ESP system was designed. The simulation was carried out by Carsim and Simulink. The results showed us the coordinated stability control of automobile 4WS and ESP System greatly improving the steering stability of a car compared with the single system.
