摘要

A numerical model to calculate the exit strip shape in cold rolling has been developed. The algorithm of this model is based on that proposed previously using a parametization technique. In contrast to the conventional approach, the present method gives a very stable numerical scheme and achieves convergence with only a few iterations. The model has been used to study the complex interactions between the rolling parameters as the strip travels from upstream of the rolling stand, through the roll bite, to downstream of the stand. The model has successfully predicted the shape defects observed in practical cold rolling conditions, and been applied to study approaches to alleviate shape defects encountered in cold rolling of thin strip.
