Currently, one of the greatest challenges of humanity is what to do with the huge quantity of waste generated daily. Nowadays, it figures as one of the main issues to be solved. In Brazil, there is a search for a solution for the waste's issue. Then, the solid waste minimization, composed by reduction, reuse and recycling, is one of the main options to compose a solution. In this work, the goal was to evaluate the implementation and efficiency of the domestic solid waste minimization program introduced in the School of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism at UNICAMP. So, several analyses of the waste generated in the School were made, twelve of them before the program's implementation and thirteen after it (considering different weeks, months and seasons). During these analyses there were identified the composition of the waste generated in the School, the minimization potential, the efficiency of the program introduced and the composition of the wrong selection made. Finally, it was possible to conclude that the program has achieved good level of efficiency, but, this level can improve, through actions that aim the optimization of the waste's minimization.
