The Italian Agency for Energy, Environment and New Technology (ENEA) has conducted a series ofrnroad test on the IVECO Altrobus Urban Hybrid Bus. Data collection, including consumption, electric andrnemission measurements, were performed during the real "on the road" condition along the transit line inrnRome. Results of these test have been used to modeling the vehicle using the Advanced VehiclernSimulator (ADVISOR) developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). This paperrnwill focus on the comparison between model predictions and test results using the real driving cycle.rnFurthermore test results have been used to calibrate the ADVISOR model in order to analyze andrncompare different hybrid control strategies. Comparative analysis have been conducted using threerncontrol approach to increase environmental performance or energy efficiency. Comparison have beenrnperformed analyzing consumption, emission and battery state of charge. Results from the testing havernshown a good agreement with the model predictions and the control strategy comparison have yieldedrninteresting information about the batteries and vehicle performance.
