A Study on the Aptitude Test of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Pilots

Lately, there has been a sudden increase in the number of RPA(Remotely Piloted Aircraft) pilots.rnThis has required a great deal of education and training, including a basic flight training process,rninstrument flight certificate training, and a basic shifting training process. In case that an RPA pilotrnis determined to be inappropriate as a pilot during flight training and drops out accordingly,rnsignificant effort and costs for selecting candidates are wasted. For the same reason, thernmethodology, which goes through a prior flight aptitude test, confirms those who have inappropriaternelements as RPA pilots may be meaningful in reducing unnecessary time and cost by decreasing thernnumber of personnel who drops out during flight training. As a methodology for selecting questionsrnfor an aptitude test for RPA pilots, the study considered was the already existing studies on the jobrnanalysis of RPA pilots. After selecting questions for an aptitude test based on contents which werernconsidered previously, the verification of the selected questions of an aptitude test were designed inrnaccordance with stratification and importance. Next, the study verified the suitability of the questionsrnfor the designed aptitude test. Through this research, it is expected to enhance efficiency in flightrntraining by providing information of the candidates of RPA pilots’ piloting aptitude before theyrnreceive flight training.
