EVACUATION SIMULATION ANALYSIS OF FIRES IN URBAN SUBWAY STATION WITH PLATFORM SHIELD DOOR SYSTEM

Subway station is an important part of modern urban transport system, which endowed with high speed and great transport capacity. The increasing problems brought about by high density of people in subway station have created an urgent need to strengthen safety management level. The platform shield door system was installed to prevent crowed people incident. However, the evacuation simulation analysis on the influence for opening position and opening quantity of shield door is still insufficient. This paper carried out evacuation simulation analysis of fires in a certain subway station with platform shield door system. Based upon the field observation of passenger number and the software of Building EXODUS, different evacuation scenarios were considered in the simulation. In connection with each simulation scenario, the total evacuation time was calculated during the discussion. Apparently the relevant suggestions are helpful to enhance the safety precautions of urban subway station.
